Grand pianos, original art, antique furniture, wine collections and sculpture need a different plan than a sofa does. We build wooden crates to the dimensions of the piece, pad and rig it for the route out of the building, and place it slowly at the other end. Every specialty move is photographed and inventoried before it moves. Where a piece needs climate-controlled transport, we arrange that with a specialist carrier rather than improvising it ourselves.

Fine art, antiques, grand pianos, oversized sculpture, and collector items require more than moving blankets and a standard truck. They require custom crating where appropriate, climate-aware loading, slow and deliberate placement, and full documentation. Easy Move Florida handles specialty items as a dedicated service — quoted individually because every piece is different.
For antiques, paintings, sculpture and collections, our part is the preparation: we can prepare any antique piece for shipping — assessment, wrapping, a crate built for the piece where it needs one, and photos at every stage. The shipping itself is done by our partner carriers, who take the prepared piece from us. If a piece needs equipment or expertise beyond what we offer, we'll tell you upfront — not take the job and figure it out later.

Custom crating built on-site
For art, antiques, and fragile sculpture, we build custom protective crates on-site. Foam-lined, padded, secured for transport. For pieces continuing with a licensed long-haul carrier, we crate to that carrier's written requirements before hand-off.
Climate-aware loading
South Florida heat and humidity damage wood, oil paintings, and certain materials while they wait to be loaded. We pack so that exposure time is short, and when a piece needs climate-controlled transport, the partner carrier provides it.
Photo documentation before and after
Every specialty item is photographed before packing and after unpacking. This protects both you and us in the event of a claim, and gives you a complete record.
Honest about what we don't do
Some pieces require gallery-grade fine art handlers, museum riggers, or specialty equipment we don't have. We'll tell you upfront and recommend a specialist rather than take the job.

In-person assessment
For specialty items, we strongly recommend an in-person walk-through. We assess each piece for crating needs, transport requirements, and any access challenges (oversized pieces, narrow stairwells, elevator size).

Custom written quote
Quote includes per-piece crating cost, transport, insurance recommendations, and any specialty equipment (rigging, climate transport, etc.). High-value items often warrant declared value insurance — we walk you through options.

Crating and prep day
For pieces requiring custom crates, we build them 1-2 days before move day. Photos taken at this stage.

Hand-off to the carrier
Prepared pieces go to our partner carrier with the inventory and the photos taken at packing, so the condition at hand-off is on record.

Delivery
The partner carrier ships and delivers the piece. The photos from packing are the reference for checking it on arrival.

Common Questions
Do you move grand pianos?
Yes - upright, baby grand and concert grand. Each is a different job: an upright is weight and a doorway, a grand comes apart for the move and goes back together at the other end. A local piano move typically runs $750-$1,400; interstate piano transport we hand to a licensed carrier. We coordinate with piano tuners post-move when requested — pianos require re-tuning after any significant move.
Can you move large oil paintings or sculpture?
We prepare them for shipping: a crate built on-site for the piece, padding, and photos before it leaves. The shipping itself is done by our partner carriers. For pieces over 8 feet or weighing over 200 lbs, we may recommend a specialty fine art handler — we'll be honest about what's within our capability.
How do you handle insurance for high-value items?
Standard cargo insurance is included up to a per-pound limit. For high-value items (anything over $5,000 typically), we strongly recommend declared value or full-replacement coverage. Your coordinator walks you through options before booking.
Do you handle antique or oversized furniture?
We can prepare any antique piece for shipping: assessment, padding, a crate where the piece needs one, and photos before and after. The shipping itself is done by our partner carriers.
Can you move a wine collection?
We prepare it: bottles inventoried and packed in proper wine boxes (cell-divided cardboard or wood). Transport, climate-controlled when the collection needs it, is done by a partner carrier.
Collectors in Brickell, Coral Gables, Aventura and Palm Beach ask for the same thing: a piece that leaves the house protected and documented. That preparation is our part; the shipping goes to a partner carrier.
